¹⁷ It is true, O Lord, that the kings of Assyria have destroyed the nations and their lands. ¹⁸ They have cast their gods into the flames, for they were not really gods. They were only the work of human hands, made from wood and stone. ¹⁹ Now, O Lord, our God, deliver us from out of his hands so that all of the kingdoms upon the earth might know that you, O Lord, are the only God.”
